There have been times when I have been surrounded by people yet felt all alone. Can you relate? Perhaps the people we are surrounded by are distracted and you feel invisible. Perhaps you are not surrounded by any people at the moment, and you truly feel alone. No matter what state or degree of loneliness you are experiencing, I'm writing this today to tell you are never all alone when you have a relationship with God's Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
It can be so very difficult and painful to feel all alone and I think that we humans all experience it at different times during our lives here on this fallen planet. I can't help but think of the fact that Jesus Christ truly understands this feeling that we experience because He was abandoned by everyone, the disciples, His followers, and all of humanity when He was tried, sentenced, and killed on a Roman cross.
Because Jesus completely understands us from a human standpoint, He has given us the promise that ". . . And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20). In addition, Jesus told the disciples that He would send The Comforter Who would always be with them. "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever," John 14:6.
One of the greatest gifts every believer in Jesus Christ has is the gift of His constant Presence through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Not only are we never alone, we always have someone Who intercedes for us before the Throne of God. Romans 8:26 says, "Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words."
Every time you are feeling invisible, alone, misunderstood, rejected, betrayed, abandoned and lonely, close your eyes and whisper a prayer requesting that the Holy Spirit will make His Presence known to you. Then, trust, using your faith, that the Holy Spirit is right there inside you, alongside you, and interceding for you.
For all the people who have even felt abandoned by their closest relatives, the Psalmist said, "For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in." (Psalm 27:10)
Hallelujah! The Lord will take you in!
You are never all alone if you have believed upon Jesus Christ as Your Savior. If you have not yet accepted the Gift of Jesus' sacrifice for your sins, it is as simple as believing, with faith, that Jesus Christ is God's Son, who died for you, was resurrected from the dead and now sits on the right hand of the Heavenly Father.
Romans 10:9 says, "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
In John 8:24, Jesus says, "I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.”
