We could all use encouragement these days. The best news I can give you
comes from God's Word. God is the only One who can provide truth,
encouragement, hope, and love for us.
Personally, as an artist with a 26-year background as a licensed Marriage and
Family Therapist, I consistently need encouragement that God will use my
gifts, skills, and personality traits for His glory, to accomplish His will. There
are plenty of times that I struggle with knowing if dedicating time to painting is
a worthy pursuit. Can God use my art to reach people for Jesus Christ? Can
God use my art to encourage people, to cause people to focus on that which
is good and righteous? I certainly pray that this is so.
Another artist, Shawna Wright, posted her art journal photo of these verses
that really spoke to me and helped me relax and trust that God can use my art
just as much as my counseling, to encourage people to look toward Him. I
hope these Bible verses encourage you to trust that God will provide, God will
lovingly empower you to go about the work that He has for you. It is God that
will bring His will about and your job is to cooperate (obey) God's call upon
your life.
Isaiah 55:10-11 "As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
God will achieve His purposes. Isn't that comforting? It IS comforting when
you know the beautiful, perfect, just, holy, and loving character of God as He
reveals to us in Scripture. God can take everything in our lives, the good, the
bad, and the ugly, and weave a beautiful tapestry.
Thank you Jesus Christ, for giving us access to God's perfect power and
provision.
